Preparation for First Holy Communion
Normally this celebration occurs in Year 3 of a child’s life. Not only is it an important year in the life a your child, it is also an important year for their class, their teachers, and also for the family. A child’s faith journey began when he or she was baptised.
Now, that the child has grown, they are about to take another step in their faith journey, as they prepare for First Holy Communion.
Whilst the home is the primary learning place, so family catechesis is always encouraged and parents must actively accompany their children on their journey. Our teachers and parish catechists do a wonderful job in preparing the children for their special day, but ‘home is where the heart is’ and this is where children are influenced by what they see and learn.
As part of our preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, we run in tandem a Parish based period of formation.
It is also very much hoped that the child and his or her parents will attend Sunday Mass regularly.
